This hotel is a little out of the main town area but it is only a short taxi ride from the station. Set high up and overlooking the hills and the river ravine the views are lovely. we were there at the end of winter so it was quite chilly but i would imagine the views in Autumn would be awesome. The rooms were spacious and traditional. and we loved the foyer decor. As a family travelling with 2 children the room and hotel were fine for us. It was very quiet when we were there and we enjoyed the onsen. We had breakfast included as part of the deal which was a great experience. A really traditional meal served by an lovely lady Goma who explained all the meal to us and took great care of us all. We saw monkeys in the hills when walking in the area around the hotel and all in all it was a very peacful and lovely experience.

“Helpful and friendly staff, good food”

Nice Japanese style food, helpful and friendly hotel staff, located somewhere in no man's land in terms of access, but 20 mins walk from either Kinugawaonsen or Kosagoe station is not very much. OK-ish onsen.

I was a bit unsure about this hotel because it had some bad reviews but it was actually pretty good. I got a room in the 9th floor (top floor) with a view of the Kinugawa river which was really nice! The room was clean...well mostly because there was a used towel inside the closet space but other than that it was pretty hygienic. The shower in the room only had cold water but it didn't matter because there is a hot spring bath downstairs. Apparently they have a bar, karaoke too which opens at 8:30pm which is such a Japanese thing to have. The room was quiet and i had a good nights sleep. For its cheap price i think its not bad. If you are looking for something modern and fancy this is not the place for you but for a budget trip I think its pretty much the best you can get for the price. We payed 4300yen per person for a night which is almost the same as a night in a hostel. and for a room with a view and hot springs bath i think its a bargain lots of free parking

Stayed here one night November 15 as part of a trip through Japan. We arrived by car and there is ample parking. Check in was easy despite the lack of English spoken. Stayed here one night November 15 as part of a trip through Japan. We arrived by car and there is ample parking. Check in was easy despite the lack of English spoken. The hotel felt outdated and needed a bit of a makeover. No carpets on the landing areas made it noisy when other guests came to their rooms in the evening. We were on a half board deal. The ding room was tradition low tables and you sit on the floor. We found the food to be of a very low standard and it was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. We have had local Japaese food in many other places and it is usually very high quality.

In autmn, I recommend this hotel but please inform the hotel staff in advance , there is free shuttle service from Kinugawa-onsen tobu station. The hotel onsen is also good, clean and hyginic. If you come by private car, no prolem.
