After spending four days and three nights at Apart Rosengarten with a family member while occupying two rooms on the first floor I could not be more impressed by this gem of a unique property. The label "boutique B&B / apartment hotel with a friendly family touch" doesn't even come close to the wonderful guest experience we had. To begin with: the place is simply gorgeous. It not only offers a unique mix of highly functional room layouts and designs, but does so in an impeccable modernist style with the use of the highest quality of furnishings and materials. On entering the Apart Rosengarten we could not believe that the property is already in use for some years. It looks brand new, and both rooms we utilized were in tip top shape. The design is a great mixture of modern materials in clever juxtapositions (for instance: concrete ceilings vs. textile covered walls and hard wood floors) without compromising on functionality. The rooms are spacious, bright and quiet, and the designers have realized a modernist style for all rooms and guest areas in the best sense of the word. Unlike many boutique hotels the architecture always made us feel welcome while at the same time constantly surprising us with clever solutions. What did stick out here is the high functionality of the property: from barrier free bath rooms to cleverly "hidden" rest rooms and built in kitchens to great balconies plus ample free parking spaces offered - everything not only worked well, but was incredibly cleverly designed to the very last small detail. All this was done without oozing any "pretentious artsy modernist style" and/or "design-before-usefulness-attitude" - which sadly can be found in very many so-called "designer/boutique hotels" today who seem to put "surface before substance". Apart Rosengarten is a shining example of how modern design should be done in a hotel and holiday apartment property, and I wished that some hotel designers would find their way to Immenstaad and this great place. This is how it is done, people! In addition, the host family not only has put in a lot of thought in the design of the rooms and property - but also knows how to deliver a top notch service and guest experience. This honestly already started with the booking experience where some of our specific mobility related room needs were immediately acknowledged, and my mother was offered a great room that suited her very well after her recent surgery. Also, the confirmation of our booking came swift and the welcome and introduction to the hotel on our arrival day made us feel very welcome from the get go. We were received in such a friendly and "family style" way that we really felt at home from the first moment on. Another highlight - after receiving great recommendations for a coffee place and local restaurants as well as having a good night's sleep - was the fantastic breakfast service the next morning. Not only did we have great coffee and juices, but the buffet offered an abundance of high quality foods (incl. fresh rolls, croissants, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, cereals & mueslis, sweet treats and natural yoghurts etc etc) and also made to order hot egg dishes served at the table. All this was served in a really cozy breakfast area which in the summer is extended to a beautiful balcony area as well. The host family always made it a point to welcome all guests personally, and then having a little chat at the breakfast table. They shared information on the wheather outlook, gave recommendations for day trips, local restaurants and cafes as well as any kind of activities the guest were interested in. They did this in a personal and very friendly way - and we always looked forward to a great start of our day at breakfast while staying at Apart Rosengarten. In addition to the B&B and guest house, the host family also runs a small, but very quaint local restaurant right on the property. We visited one night, and the atmosphere was great - cozy and laid back with very personal service provided. We really enjoyed the very tasty local food and great beer available, and very much enjoyed our evening - especially the local food specialties. All in all, we felt extremely well taken care of and were very impressed with the strong effort the host family put into providing first class service to their guest while at the same time really enjoying to interact with their guest on a personal level. One has the feeling that this family are true professionals in hospitality, but also love what they are doing and very much enjoy having guests ranging from families, couples and single tourists to business travelers. The Apart Rosengarten is a great choice if you want to spend a holiday on and near Lake Constance (the lake shore is 400 m away by foot) since the property is situated right in the middle of very many beautiful sights, cities and activities. Immenstaad also offers great connectivity by boat across the lake to many cities and sights available on the shores of this beautiful lake, and Apart Rosengarten is close to local shopping and restaurants which can be easily reached by foot. I recommend this place in a heartbeat for family vacations, and as a romantic getaway for couples of all ages. I will certainly return to the Apart Rosengarten which is a gem on the lake and offers very high value in a top notch quality property with outstanding and - for me - unparalleled personal service level. On our last day we did thank our hosts for giving us such a special guest experience, and even though they admitted to looking forward to closing the place for the winter and their own holidays, we cannot wait to come back to Apart Rosengarten for the summer next year!
