Hotel 2B is well located in the old town of Schaffhausen, a shot walk from the main square and shopping street and the same distance from the river and Munot overlooking the town. Our room was huge and recently refurbished. The bathroom and shower were excellent. Nice coffee machine in the room with tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided. We received a complimentary drink and chips and dip during our stay, but there's no breakfast or any other meals. Despite being part of the Tex Mex restaurant downstairs, the rooms aren't noisy. Staff are friendly and English is spoken. The only downside is it's very expensive, as is everything in Switzerland, which is a bit annoying.

While there were saucers, there were no coffee cups. Had to go to the restaurant/reception to get them. While there were saucers, there were no coffee cups. Had to go to the restaurant/reception to get them. The bathroom had a good exhaust fan, but louder than needed and less effective because of the buildup on junk on the filter, like a dryer lint filter it was clogged. I removed some gunk for better air flow. I understand the rustic room aesthetic including dimmable main light, but a reading light without a lamp shade goes too far for me. The lamp socket on my side was flaky, had to be adjusted if knocked for the light to work. The location was right next to the museum. Parking on Saturday night into Sunday was free, but could be hard to find.

Hotel 2B is not a traditional hotel in the sense that it is a number of rooms in a building behind a restaurant. The restaurant is the reception where to get the key. The restaurant entrance is in the Vordergasse but the rooms look either onto the Münsterplatz or the courtyard between hotel and restaurant. My room was very big with a sort industrial interior design. Coffee machine with some capsules is present but there was no fridge. Big TV, good bathroom, large windows. All in all very comfortable. Reception was very friendly and there were some coupons for a free drink in the restaurant. There is a covered paid parking very close to the restaurant. The hotel does not offer breakfast but it suggests going to the Reber bakery where they have good breakfast options and enough seating.

The hotel rooms have been recently renovated. Our room was very nice it had a very good bed, a coffee machine, a sofa, etc... The hotel common areas are not yet fully renovated. We hope that the final details associated with the common areas will address the occasional noise and light hindrances from the adjacent restaurant. The restaurant in itself is a good youthful restaurant but nothing gourmet.
