“This B&B deserves a much higher ranking!”

I think its absolutely unfair that such a great place gets such a low ranking on TA! I wouldnt have considered this place at all due to its low ranking (i usually only go for top 20), if i hadnt met the owners at a roadshow. They unreservedly offered me suggestions and directions when i was just asking about transport and general stuff about Yilan, with no obligations. He even gave me his number, so i can feel free to ask him any further questions, if i have any. All these when i have not even booked my tickets! Our top priority was our toddler, so when i asked if they could cook some porridge for him twice a day and i would pay, the boss very generously and immediately replied that he would do it for free! Compare that to another top 10 hotel who didnt want to do it despite having an onsite restaurant. Thus we finally decided to give this hotel a try, a bit apprehensively at first i must say. But boy, was i pleasantly surprised! The owner personally helped me get train tickets from yilan to taitung, when i couldnt get the timings i need. There was some miscommunication, and his wife had to book and rebook the tickets, even though she was on vacation! When we had baggage delay, their staff took initiative to communicate with the airport staff and courier on my behalf, even though i am proficient in the Chinese language. They made multiple calls to make sure my baggage gets delivered before we leave for another city. They were also very quick to attend to any request and appear at my door with whatever thats needed whenever i called, even when its raining. Due to the baggage delay, we reached close to 8pm for dinner at their restaurant, but no one complained or even mentioned that the restaurant is supposed to close at 8pm! We had a great relaxing meal at the on site restaurant where you can see fishes swimming beneath! It was an awesome respite from the bad day we had from the long hours of travel to the delay and jam. The owner instructed the chefs to prepare different types of porridge for my son for every meal, and even drove us to the town central a few times (they provide free transport to luodong town area), this coming from an owner of a 50 room property! His wife personally plays the guzhen now and then during breakfast, oh and they have live music some days during dinner time! The rooms were big and clean, my son had fun climbing the stairs and running around. There are 3 tvs, one upstairs one downstairs, and even one you can watch while in the hot spring tub! We saw stars just above our bed, when we opened the retractable roof in our room. We love the quaint and rustic feel of this place, with dogs and cats, ducks and fishes, chickens and parrots. In fact, because my son wasnt feeling too well, we only went out of the hotel in the late afternoons, yet we felt that this place had everything we need, whether its a hot meal, a hot soak or bath, or just leisurely feeding fishes and ducks and exploring around with our toddler. I believe the only reason why their rating is not higher is probably because with 50 rooms to handle compared to a 3room b&b, guests may not have the chance to have much interaction with the owners and hence cannot feel their hospitality or sincerity as much. But to lucky me who got to know them right from the start, the owners have been nothing short of amazing, they are humble and very welcoming, genuinely sincere! This is definitely a good base for young families and the place we would return to, when we come to Yilan again!

“Big Nice Hotel”

Stayed just one night. The room and the bathroom was very clean and spacious. Cool and nice private massage bath tub in the bathroom.
