“Lovely B&B on a lovely island.”

We stayed overnight after having previously made a day trip to check out the island. So glad we did but there are a few things to watch out for .... anyway back to the hotel. It states 4pm check in but we arrived off the 11am ferry and check in went smoothly with no problems, a very nice young lady put up with my poor spanish and was very helpful friendly and informative, she explained breakfast would be in the nearby Santa Creu hotel (more of which later), took us to the upstairs terrace and then showed us to our room. The room was modern,, very well renovated and nicely decorated, spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, ensuite shower room/toilet with good shower and lots of hot water, decent sized tv, good WiFi, air con, fridge and a complimentary chilled half bottle of Cava which was enough for two glasses. The room had it's own terrace which was fully shaded and as such pleasantly cool with enough space for 4 people to sit. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room which is my only suggestion to make this just about perfect for a overnight stay. The breakfast was in the Santa Creu hotel just off the main square and is another reformed terraced house, the breakfast area is light and airy with breakfast being a buffet of cold meats, fruit, cereals, and bread/croissants. It all comes with orange juice, coffee or tea, and toast with tomate. All very nicely presented and enough to set you up for the day. Two things to watch out for (non of which is a reflection on the hotel) all the restaurants close around 6-6:30pm so eat late in the afternoon, and the only bar open charges high prices for drink after the last ferry so I'd bring over a couple of bottles of wine and drink on the very nice upstairs terrace at the hotel. We enjoyed this trip, we went snorkelling in the bay in the afternoon, had an excellent meal late afternoon in one of the restaurants and then spent the evening discovering all the alleyways in the town. In the morning after breakfast we walked around the island before picking up our bags for the ferry. The ferries allow you to use the return ticket on another day so you only have to buy a return , our cost was 10 euros and as with the day trip we had was good value. I enjoyed Tabarca, it's a lovely island and well worth the stay overnight, the hotel is good and we both think we'll go back again to the island and this hotel. Try it I think you'll like it too.
