We have just returned from a 14 night holiday at the radison blue hotel in the Azuri resort, what a beautiful country! First all the positives Hotel rooms lovely and well cleaned we stayed in room 1104 which was a ground floor room opposite the restaurant which was perfect The staff are fantastic, attentive and accommodating, the bar staff exceptional and restaurant staff exceptional especially Rishi and they remember your names! Could have been as I was probably the only person drinking whisky The chef’s produced continually fantastic food and a good variety, they also encourage asking for anything you may want cooked that is not on display which is a great touch The reception staff and manager was again welcoming and fantastic Mauritian people are so friendly and polite and go the extra mile to ensure you have a great time Saara our Rep organised anything and everything and we booked a private speed boat to see the whales and dolphins with private transfers and a freshly cooked bbq on a private island which seeing as myself and my wife are seasoned travellers was by far the best excursion we have experienced a special thanks to Nicholas our captain and he’s lad who made the experience unbelievable The Italian and black rock grill serve fantastic freshly cooked food and the golf club no 9 restaurant served great food also The gym is well equipped and open 24hrs which was fantastic The grounds are beautiful and well kept The beach is great with plenty of beds The pool is small but again plenty of beds Bad points No premium drinks unless you wish to pay extra which is a shame Slightly confusing with eating out to the themed restaurant as you are only entitled to 800 rupees each (1600 in total ) which restricts your options on the menus Entertainment was good but a bit limited but this is probably due to the hotel not being big I would highly recommend this hotel as the feel and relaxation was second to none and my wife had the massage which she said was fantastic albeit fairly expensive, private transfer from the airport to the hotel was fantastic and highly recommend booking this as the drivers work for the hotel and are very informative on the journey. Make sure you take Mauritian rupees as a currency to tip and purchase as this is the best currency to use, only real negative was the weather as it rained most days and temperatures only hit a maximum of 26 but this is not the hotels fault simply Mother Nature and my error for booking early September This is a must do holiday and highly recommend and we will definitely visit again
