This was our second visit within 12 months! Our experience was as perfect as we could have wished, and exemplified the high standards we encountered on our last trip! It starts at the Ferry Terminal - as you clear customs and border control and head for the exist, there are several resorts represented and guides will ask you where you are staying and then direct you to representative for your resort. I have a feeling it was the same young man we had last time - so cherry, helpful and polite! Within a few minutes we were on our way to the Pantai Indah Resort Lagoi Bay. We had a lot of baggage having already toured in England and Spain . The staff managed our bags right to our villa. You get a welcome at reception and a welcoming drink (unfortunately I don’t like it but I took a few sips as not to offend). It was a quieter time for the resort, which we indulged fully as we were there pretty much for REST & RELAXATION! We really appreciated the quiet and peaceful nature of the resort. We spent a reasonable amount of time just in our villa, resting napping, swimming and reading. We had ‘room service’ a couple of times asking for some snacks and it was very good. The staff were very attentive, and willing to help, but sometimes the culture/language barrier made it difficult, but the staff were great at apologising and and asking for time to check I guess with a supervisor and generally we got there. You did feel like you were causing them unnecessary bother but they liked to follow through and we only have great admiration and thanks for that. The villas are well designed and cater for a bit of luxury. They are spacious and fairly new, and very well kept and very clean. We tried to skip housekeeping a couple of days to save staff the bother and be a bit eco-friendly. The pool was quite large and thankfully at a temperature that you could walk straight in but feel refreshed - the seawater on the other hand was quite warm and not refreshing in the 32-35degree humid heat. There’s half a dozen activities that you can undertake, but you could do them all in a couple of days - The Blue Lake and Dunes, Temple of a thousand Buddhas, Chrystal Lagoon, Lagoi Plaza, Turtle Releases, Spas, souvenir shopping, and water adventures for snorkelling and fishing and swimming and White Sand Island. The sunsets can be spectacular so in the late afternoon take a stroll down the beach. We had breakfast included which was a novelty for us - we normally fast most mornings. There was a great array of options catering for most cultures and tastes . I’d like to recommend having boiling water for tea or coffee top ups at the tea/coffee table. If you have any special or specific requirements, the staff are only too happy to oblige. They remember who you are and anything special you request! Housekeeping is extremely efficient and caring. They’d drop off towels. Toilet paper etc quickly at the drop of a hat! On our last night we asked to have a few items laundered but it had to be done by 9 am the following morning as we were to leave by 10 . The Housekeeping Manager, Tamrin, promised to do this for us. The items did arrive on time, but my wife’s dress was missing a button and she was hoping to wear it that day. It could have fallen off before it went to the laundry but we thought we’d just checked if the laundry had it. Tamrin was most apologetic and went out of his way to check, then confirm with us that they’d found the button, would get it back and sow it on before we left. It was done and in time! Thank you TAMRIN! While we’re at it, we would like to mention the following staff who made our staff so wonderful: Tamrin, Monique (trainee doing very well), Tristan and Johanes! What a great team.
