Having kept an eye on the reviews for this resort for the few months before we went, I must admit we went with some trepidation. The reviews either seemed to be very good or very bad! Thankfully, I can confirm that this hotel is very good, has a beautiful location, five minutes from the airport with no airport noise, beautiful beach, lovely staff and generally good food options. We had rooms in block 11 on the third floor which had good views over the gardens, lake and sea. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning each day was exceptional. The hotel does have a lot of steps both between the main reception areas and the rooms and also down to the beach so be aware if you have difficulties. There was no lift in our block, but the Bell boys will take your cases. All the staff were extremely courteous, always replying “you’re welcome” when you thanked them. You get served your water, tea, coffee at breakfast and drinks in the evening when you first sit down and on the odd occasion we did have to chase them for service or top ups. There are four À la carte restaurants which you can book 2 days in advance Online. This was not too much of an issue for us as our friends were up early and we managed to get five nights out of 10 in these restaurants. The best by far was the Italian where we all had good meals on two occasions. The French restaurant was not so good. Service was fine, but some dishes were disappointing and the temperature in the room was so cold that you tended to rush your food to get out. The Indian was nice. Don’t expect the vindaloo to be UK hot though! Very tasty though and you can each have rice and naan breads as well as a starter and a main. The other nights we ate in the buffet and also all our breakfasts. There was a great selection and with the exception of maybe one or two occasions, we all found something nice to eat. Breakfast options were excellent with lots of nice breads and cooked or continental options, waffles, fruit etc. I did have to ask for jams/marmalades which for some reason were never on the buffet. There is also a nice poolside bar at lunchtime where you could choose snacky food like burgers & nachos. There always seemed to be lots of staff here chatting, but the service was a bit less friendly. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and we have an all-inclusive holiday every year all over the world. For Day trips we did a Taxi into St George’s which is a typical busy (and a bit dirty) capital but does have a lovely harbour area and a nice restaurant in the harbour called Sails. We then booked a private tour to visit grand Etang national Park where we saw the lake and met monkeys. Then we had a swim in Annandale Falls, and then a few hours on the beach at grand Anse. A beautiful beach and must see! We had a very cheap meal in umbrellas right on the beach which was excellent. Our driver Tom then picked us up a couple of hours later. We did this trip with Tom’s tours (land and Sea Grenada). A nice vehicle and Tom was great fun and knew everyone. Just along the beach to the left is a restaurant bar called aquarium where we had a delicious barbecue on our last Sunday. Nice atmosphere and great barbecue food. Would recommend that. Don’t worry about the reviews. This is a good hotel and it is what you make it! Happy holidays!

The staff is amazing, but the food outside of the Diamond Club was not good and almost always cold. Though they claim gluten free options at all restaurants, that GF option may be just a piece of overcooked leathery chicken or a plain hamburger patty. Restaurants were out of items and were usually the gluten free options. Even the meat and cheese tray quality at the buffet has gone downhill. Maybe it’s since Marriott took over or maybe it’s this resort. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m writing this review not to criticize the resort, but to provide constructive feedback and bring awareness to areas that need improvement. This resort has a lot of potential — the layout and grounds are beautiful. We stayed in Block 15, and the view and location were perfect. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and professional. The bell staff were also excellent and very helpful throughout our stay. The main issues we experienced were with housekeeping and the restaurant service. Unfortunately, our room was not consistently maintained. On the second day, our towels were removed but not replaced, so we had to call housekeeping after returning to the room. Another day, I left used towels on the shower floor, but they were never picked up. On the third day, I requested that the sheets be changed. The sheets were replaced, but the pillowcases were not. After contacting housekeeping to express my concerns, the housekeeping supervisor and department manager came to the room. I took the opportunity to show them the heavily stained lampshades, which almost looked burned, as well as the dirty, stained garbage can that had clearly not been cleaned before our arrival. For a resort advertised as 5-star, these details are unacceptable. Management needs to ensure room inspections are being done thoroughly and consistently. The buffet itself was very clean, but the food selection lacked variety for our tastes, and at times several serving trays were nearly empty. The biggest concern in the dining area was the service. The servers seemed far more focused on clearing and cleaning tables than attending to guests. On several occasions, we finished our meals before receiving the drinks we had ordered. I shared this feedback directly with management one evening because the imbalance was very noticeable. There appeared to be multiple staff members cleaning tables while very few were serving guests. I do not blame the staff, as they were clearly working hard. This seemed more like a management and organization issue. With stronger direction and better coordination, the dining experience could improve significantly. I would also like to recognize one supervisor, Devon (I may have the spelling wrong), who stood out with her energy, efficiency, and professionalism. She was constantly moving and helping, and she would make an excellent dining room manager. As for the à la carte restaurants, the Italian restaurant was decent, while the French restaurant was disappointing. It was also extremely cold inside, possibly due to issues with the air conditioning. There was also an incident where part of the buffet ceiling collapsed, resulting in the restaurant being closed for dinner for three evenings. It would have been helpful if management had clearly communicated alternative dining options to guests, as many people were left scrambling for information. The lack of communication was frustrating. Overall, this resort has the potential to truly be a 5-star destination. With better maintenance, updated finishes, improved management, and stronger staff training, it could provide a much better guest experience. Until those improvements are made, however, I would personally rate this resort closer to a 3-star experience. Irma
