“Beautiful Hotel in the Most Interesting Location of Görlitz”

The hotel is located in the most beautiful area in Görlitz. A small hotel with very personal touch. The staff was very friendly, the room was big and well equipped. We liked the stay and we will come back.

Our room (#12) was simply huge and would in many ways not been out of place in a 5* hotel e.g. the walk-in shower was more like a room in itself! Picture-postcard view onto the Untermarkt square. Location is simply fantastic! Comfortable bed and nice linens, the towels in the bathroom were a bit thin though. Internet speed was just ok, not really up to watching videos for example, and re-connection was a little slow. One disappointment was breakfast: We were greeted with the question of what we wanted to drink but it turned out the coffee machine was broken anyway and tea you make yourself. So why even ask? Missing the morning latte was something my wife didn't let me forget the whole day! :-) The next day the process repeated. If you are running a hotel and charging 15 EUR for breakfast, surely you immediately buy a 150 EUR coffee machine as an interim solution? Otherwise, breakfast was good - nice set of choices and all fresh of course. We spend some time on the rooftop terrace the first evening, which was pleasant. Take a look at the photos printed in the lobby of the renovation work to get an idea of the amazing transformation the building underwent! Positive Central location and modern styling. Adjustable heating. Negatives -Room smelled to the point of having to leave windows open in winter. Source unclear and not something you could get used to (room #2) -They want you to checkout by 8am or 10am. Cleaning was knocking on the door at 8am. -No door on shower or sink area...people in room can see you shower. Ok for couples but what if traveling with a friend? -Each device requires different wifi code requested at desk -Desk only manned until 6pm so no place to complain about above issues -Parking a 5 minute drive away (3 blocks walking). Almost got a ticket parking temporarily in front of hotel (no signs saying not to park) -No coffee/tea service in room Way more hassles than expected at this price point.
